Actor, Model
Rohan Ahershinge is an aspiring filmmaker who works as a Copy Writer with Publicis Groupe in Bombay. His recent short film Bhroon was nominated in 3 categories Best Film, Best Screenwriter, Best Actor (Female) at the Cine Premiere Indie Shorts Season 4 held at Delhi. He began writing English poetry in 2009 and eventually also wrote Hindi poems and lyrics and started composing music. He along with his friends, Pradeep Gowda and Ashish Gurung, formed the band Nirvighna in 2010. It was only in 2014 that Rohan began writing scripts. After many unsuccesful attempts to pitch his ideas to filmamkers/producers he shot is first short film - Devarika - in 2017. The movie was shot on an iphone for a festival held in Pune. Although the production quality of the movie was poor, its content was appreciated and the movie was also selected in the top 20 at the festival. This encouraged Rohan to pursue his passion and the following year, in 2018, he along with his friend Shantanu Nagvekar, who was then pursuing PG in Audio-Video Production from Symbiosis Pune, made the movie Tus. The movie showcases the journey of a man diagnosed with a peculiar hearing condition called Tinnitus. Together they wrote the script and Shantanu directed the movie. Tus was the official selection at India's first 60 Seconds Film Festival. In October 2018 Rohan conceptualized the movie Horasis. A month later he began working on the script which highlights the issue of female foeticide. The project was initially titled XX. However, by the end of December, he changed the title to Bhroon. The movie was released on YouTube in January 2019. It was also nominated in 3 categories - Best Film, Best Screenwriter, Best Actor (Female) at the Cine Premiere Indie Shorts Season 4 held at Delhi on 31st of March.
