PERCUSSIONIST

Wajid Ahmed Khan, The son and Disciple of Ustad Vasi Ahmed Khan and Grand Disciple of [ Late-Ustad Nawab Ali Khan Sahab of Farukabad Gharana ] is a dynamic and vibrant young artist.

Being born in a Music soaked family, Wajid started Learning tabla at the tender age of 3yrs. Wajid developed so much interest in Tabla that he focused all his energies and attention to his art. He won the first prize at the Inter-School level Competitions.

Moving ahead in his Musical career Wajid has performed with his Father in many prestigious Music Festivals & Concerts in India & Abroad.

Wajid gradually developed taste in other forms of World Music as well & decided to become a Percussionist. He plays instruments like Tabla , Djembe , Cajon , Darbuka & Congas etc.

He also got an opportunity to perform in front of many Great artists but to name a few like Grammy Award Winners Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt & Toumani Diabate , Kersi Lord , Rajesh Roshan , Gorakh Sharma , Leslie Lewis & many Film Celebraties.

Observing his progress and proficiency in Percussions his illustrated father and teacher Ustad Vasi Ahmed Khan gave him special training & Wajid started Composing Music & gave Music as a Music Composer & Arranger in Theatres.

He has also accompanied many well known Vocalists, Instrumentalists and Dancers.
Rigorous practice coupled with his passion for the Music made him arrive into the musical profession as an established performer. Wajid has devoted himself to this art and pledges, both domestically & globally, to make the people of India proud of his music.
Wajid is available for solo shows, as an accompanying artist and also with his own group “TABLEMBE” (TABLA and Djembe)
