I was born in Kolkata in a family which has music in its soul.
I was initiated into music at a very early age of five under the AIR artiste Mrs Bhaswati Dutta. Alongside this training, my Grand Father always inspired me by his profound knowledge of Hindusthani Classical Music.
In 1999 when I was in School, I entered a Bhajan competition organized by the Lions Club at Kolkata and won it. In 2002 I was given an opportunity to sing at the Nikhil Bharat Bango Sahitya Sammellan in Kolkata and there I came the second best.
In the same year I represented my school in the Inter-School Band Music Contest organized by the Statesman News paper where my school was adjudged ‘Second’.
In the inter school competition of Patriotic Songs held in 2003 organized by the Arya Samaj, I was declared the winner. In 2005, adjudged by the renowned exponent Shri Sree Kumar Bhattacharjee, I stood first in Rabindra Sangeet in a competition held by the Purbi Sangeet Kala Kendra.
In 2007 I was selected after auditions as an empanelled artiste of Rabindra Sangeet in the ‘Yuva Vani’ of All India Radio (Prasar Bharati).
Since 2007 I have been trained in Vocal Classical music by one of the senior most exponents Sangeetacharya Amiyo Ranjan Bandhopadhyay of Vishnupur Gharana
In 2010, I got selected and performed in Sa re ga ma conducted by Zee Bangla Channel, Kolkata and qualified till final.
I have sang as a playback singer in two Bengali feature films, Name Metro, Pakhir Basha and also Recorded songs for unreleased music track of Late Salil Choudhury. I have sung for Hindi Feature film Be Dardi Tere Pyar Mai,Tamil film Seyanthan ,Tulu & Panjabi song for the music album. I also sang for TV serial Jee Le Jara ,for a Australian film Colour of Darkness, and for Rajesthani Film Sargam Etc.
